Community group FinTech North has announced a partnership with digital sandbox provider NayaOne to build a dedicated marketplace for businesses to test their ideas.

The platform will launch this summer, providing an environment for Northern fintechs to collaborate, build products and find customers. Access to the platform will be free for the FinTech North community.

The launch of the marketplace comes after research conducted by the community platform, which found that 72 per cent of fintech companies in the North of England would value a regional directory and 68 per cent were looking for partnership opportunities.

The marketplace will allow the groups to access publicly available and synthetic datasets, as well as APIs and potential partners.

Users will also be able to access NayaOne’s data marketplace, which features more than 100 datasets, including consumer and business transaction information.

“This partnership will help to address two of the main business issues faced by northern fintechs and entrepreneurs: access to data and establishing connections with established financial services corporates,” said Joe Roche, engagement manager at FinTech North.

Kris Dickinson, director of financial services at NayaOne, added: “Fostering innovation in financial services is at the heart of what we do at NayaOne and success demands collaboration and connection across all regions of the UK.

“The marketplace for FinTech North is a foundation stone in that journey.”
